Recipe: Chocolate Waffles with a good dose of protein

Belgian waffles are known far beyond the country’s borders and with a huge choice of toppings and garnishes, it is a delicious dessert. Or simply as a treat with coffee or tea.

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 80g oatmeal
  • 60g Best Way Wheypowder
  • 200ml chocolate milk 0% sugar added
  • 2tbsp cottage cheese
  • Handful of strawberries, raspberries or blueberries
  • Pinch of cocoa or powdered sugar

Method

  1. Grease the waffle iron with the olive oil.
  2. With a hand blender, blend the oatmeal, whey protein powder and chocolate milk (0% sugar added) to form a consistent mixture.
  3. Cook the waffles and serve immediately*
  4. Top with 1 tbsp of cottage cheese, a handful of strawberries or raspberries and a pinch of cocoa.
  5. Alternatively, try blueberries and powdered sugar for nice sweet flavour.
  6. Enjoy your meal!

* With waffle irons with a power of 1400W, your waffles have a shorter baking time than with a waffle iron of 700W. On average, the baking time for waffles is between 2 and 6 minutes. Check the instructions of your waffle iron for the exact baking time.
